Sometimes humor is the only way to survive history. This handcrafted wooden ornament features the phrase “The Year We Lost Our Cents” with a nod to America’s first penny (1793–2025). Designed as a modern keepsake, it captures a moment many of us will remember. Each ornament is laser-engraved on eco wood and finished with a classic red and black buffalo plaid ribbon. You can choose to order with a penny already attached (pennies will vary in shape as I am digging through my house for pennies for this) or order it without a penny attached so you can add your own. If you choose the add your own option, it is a fun way to attach a penny with your birth year on it, or a 2025 penny to finish off the keepsake.
